In the old days, record companies liked you if you could sing; then, they would sign you and turn you a over to their A and R department to develop you as an artist. Now, Labels for the most part don't have the A-R Department anymore. In fact, they won't even look at you if you don't have the "WOW" value. You've gotta come "Pre-Ready" (that's a new word). Everybody can sing, but everybody can't work the stage or audience."
